A Luxe Statement Wall That Brings Texture, Depth & Designer Style to Your Retreat
Your primary bedroom should feel like a sanctuary—stylish, serene, and uniquely you. That’s why we transformed this space in our Calhoun Acres model home with a dimensional accent wall that combines rich color, layered texture, and modern artistry. It’s bold, elegant, and easier to recreate than it looks.
This is more than a paint job. It’s a DIY moment that turns a simple bedroom wall into a true focal point.
🛠 What We Used:
- Rich, moody blue wall paint
- 3D wood panel molding or decorative wall tiles
- Nail gun or construction adhesive
- Caulk or wood filler (for seamless edges)
- Metallic wall art for a sculptural finish
🔨 How We Created It:
1. Painted the Back Wall
We started with a deep blue paint to set the tone. The color adds sophistication and makes the lighter wood panels pop with contrast.
2. Installed the Panels
Using geometric-patterned wood panels (you can find similar styles at home improvement stores or online retailers), we attached them across the wall with a nail gun and adhesive. The repeating curved design adds movement and texture without overwhelming the space.
3. Smoothed & Styled
Once installed, we filled gaps with caulk and touched up any paint where needed. Then we added brushed gold floral wall art for extra dimension and a touch of glam.
💡 Dunhill Designer Tip:
If your bed is centered on the wall, keep symmetry in mind—line up your panel layout with the bed frame, and use matching nightstands and lamps for a polished finish. You can also paint the panels to match the wall for a subtler tone-on-tone look.
🛏 Why It Works
- Adds texture and visual interest without needing full wall coverage
- Instantly elevates the room from builder-basic to boutique-hotel chic
- Can be customized to match your style—modern, classic, or even coastal
At Dunhill Homes, we believe every room should have a little something special—and this painted headboard accent wall was the perfect touch to bring this space to life.
